In March 2008, a Client Satisfaction Survey was mailed to 400 of our clients.  The response was outstanding with 35% returned and comments were very positive!

Who are our clients?   

• 73% clients are female with an average age of 79 years
•   pproximately 60% South Delta / 40% North Delta client location  
•    average years of service = 12 yearsØ      average hours per week = 6 hrs. Ø      90% reported that their care plan meets all of the needs Ø      95% rated nursing staff excellent/good Ø      94% rated CHW’s performance excellent/good Ø      77% rated office staff helpful always / 23% sometimes Ø      96% stated they would recommend the agency to others Ø      97% felt that CHW’s are sensitive and responsible to customs or tradition of the culture or background Ø      98% felt that CHW’s are prompt and reliable Here are some of their comments? “Thank you for all your services.  It is all prompt, efficient and they understand everything we need.” “Friendliness helpful and good attitude.” “Detailed, friendly office staff.” “I resisted home care for years (until my doctor said it was a matter of safety) because I didn’t want to schedule my life around home care.  Now I find it so helpful I don’t mind scheduling activities around it.” “Caregivers are first class and caring people.” “For sure (recommend the agency to others), I always talk to all my friends how my life because very good having somebody to help me.  Thank you so much and regards.” “Yes, because it keeps us at our own home among friends that they do not have to leave – rather than visit in the hospital.” “Yes they (CHW) do a good job – so I can live on my own.” “They (CHW) are always cheerful and kind.” “Excellent during my late husband’s last months.  I am very grateful for their care.” “The health workers that have come on a regular basis have helped with my mental health as well as my physical needs which is very much appreciated.” “I am greatly in need of this service and it has helped me greatly.” “Our family is very grateful for this service.  Without it, our family member would be in a facility.” “I really appreciate all the care and understanding I receive.” “With this service it enables me to be able to live on my own and keep independence.”

After Dad passed away in 2003, we worried that Mum was

going to be all right in her home. Because of DHS, she was

able to continue an independent life.

failed to impress us. You made carrying on a normal life

possible for the whole family. Mum was always well-cared for

 and safe and we knew it!

She is settling in to her new place at Kinsmen, and seems to
